FAQs

What are the costs associated with the power change?

The change of contracted power in your electricity supply may involve several costs. These costs are regulated and may vary depending on the power you request and the regulations in force at the time of the change. The main associated costs are:

Extension rights

This is a charge applied when an increase in network capacity is requested to support the new contracted power. Extension fees cover the costs related to the extension and reinforcement of the electrical infrastructure necessary to guarantee an adequate and safe supply to the new demand. This cost may vary depending on the amount of additional kW requested and the technical characteristics of the network in your area.

Access rights

This cost is charged for access to the additional network capacity you request. Access rights are applied both when increasing and decreasing the contracted power. This charge is designed to cover the maintenance and management costs of the electricity network that enable the distribution of energy to your point of supply.

The amount payable for access rights is calculated on the basis of the kW contracted and is established by current regulations.

Down payment rights

This charge is applied for the technical actions necessary to adjust the contracted power in your electrical installation. The connection fee covers the costs of the intervention of the technical personnel who must make changes to the meter, the installation and other elements necessary to adapt your supply to the new contracted power. This cost is generally fixed and is regulated by current legislation.

Calculation Example

Suppose you want to increase the contracted power from 4.6 kW to 5.75 kW. In this case, the costs would be broken down as follows:

  • Extension fees: Calculated for each additional kW requested. If the cost per kW is €17.37, and you request an additional 1.15 kW, the cost would be approximately €20.
  • Access fees: Also calculated for each additional kW requested. If the cost per kW is 19.70 €, and you request an additional 1.15 kW, the cost would be approximately 22.65 €.
  • Hook-up fee: This cost is usually a fixed amount, for example, 9.04 €.

In total, the cost to increase the contracted power would be the sum of these three charges. It is important to check with your electric company or review the current regulations for exact costs, as they may vary.
