Will I lose my electricity supply when I change companies?

Switching electricity companies is a process designed to be as smooth and uninterrupted as possible. You should not lose your electricity supply when switching companies, as continuity of service is guaranteed by current regulations. This process is carried out in such a way that the customer does not experience interruptions in supply during the transition from one company to another.

The first step in this process is to select the new electric company and contract the tariff that best suits your needs. Once you’ve decided, the new company will manage the entire switching process. This includes notifying your current supplier and coordinating the transition. This is done internally between the companies, and the end user generally does not have to be involved in this administrative aspect.

During the transition, your electricity supply will continue uninterrupted. The regulations state that electricity must continue to flow to your home while the changeover takes place. This is possible because the electricity supply is managed at the infrastructure and network level, and is not affected by the administrative change of the supply company. The electricity distribution network is operated by the same network operators, regardless of which company is your supplier, which ensures stability and continuity of supply.
